November wrap up!!

I know is should have post this, like, three days ago, but I am too lazy😁

Last month I’ve read only 6 books and a manga, because SCHOOOLLLLL is stealing me too much time. I also re-read the last half of The Catcher In Ihe Rye, ( I had to do a review for school), but it doesn’t count, it’s only half a book…😕

I don’t really know if I’m reading this little only because of the schoolwork I have, or because of a reading slamp.. but anyway..

I will leave you down below, the photos of the covers, the amazon link, the plot and my considerations and also the appreciation!

The first book I’ve read in November is, (Ipickedupalotoffairytailsthismonth😊)

The  Sleeper and the Spindle, by Neil Gaiman.

Here you are my split review on instagram

Neil Gaiman is a fantastic author, his writing style is completely different form any other, it’s so creepy and intense that even 66 pages can make you fall in love with the characters and the story itself.

And do we wanna talk about the cover and the drawings that are contained in this book?? I mean, They’re fabulous! Chris Riddle has done a fantastic work with is pencil, even if I didn’t quite liked the one he’s done in this edition of Coraline this one was ten times better!

The black flowers, the gold branches, the title WOW!! But I have to admit that I don’t like the facial structure of the girl in the background..

But then you turn the page and you see this:

And you just..😍😍😍

Here you are a girl protagonist with all the attributes! If you’re looking for a brave and fearless main character, I strongly recommend it to you!

And the plot comes for last:

A thrillingly reimagined fairy tale from the truly magical combination of author Neil Gaiman and illustrator Chris Riddell – weaving together a sort-of Snow White and an almost Sleeping Beauty with a thread of dark magic, which will hold readers spellbound from start to finish.

On the eve of her wedding, a young queen sets out to rescue a princess from an enchantment. She casts aside her fine wedding clothes, takes her chain mail and her sword and follows her brave dwarf retainers into the tunnels under the mountain towards the sleeping kingdom. This queen will decide her own future – and the princess who needs rescuing is not quite what she seems. Twisting together the familiar and the new, this perfectly delicious, captivating and darkly funny tale shows its creators at the peak of their talents.

Lavishly produced, packed with glorious Chris Riddell illustrations enhanced with metallic ink, this is a spectacular and magical gift.

🌻🌻🌻🌻 four out of five sunflowers for this magic book!

The only manga I’ve read this month is:

Rainbow days by Minami Mizuno

I will give you only the plot and my ratings, because it is too early to have a complete review of this manga.

Unfortunately, this manga is only available in Italy and in Japan, of course..

But I will post it the same just in case someone of you want to read it in italian! I will translate the plot for you!

Four classmates very different … Natsuki is shy and naive , and his tendency to daydream makes him a easy prey for the school bullies ; Tomoya is a very popular guy, and his penchant for girls leads him to adopt attitudes decidedly frivolous; Tsuyoshi instead is an otaku , and it is difficult to realize what is happening around him; Keiichi has always an evil grin on his face, and does nothing to hide his sadistic streak … Although they have nothing in common, does not pass a day that the four do not spend together! Among the difficulties , friendships and loves , each of them will try to better face the most critical of all ages : adolescence !

Just another pic, for purpose of illustrations..

🌻🌻🌻 and half sunflowers out of 5!

The Beginning of everything by Robyn Schneider

Don’t stab me, but I really think this is an over hyped book.

Let me explain my reason before you kill me..😖

I thought, during all the book, that this was a common story of the stereotyped golden boy, and the hipster girl who manages to change is mind after this big tragedy.. etc etc..

There were only three or four good quotes, that the author threw there for no reason, with the conviction that all her readers would have liked the book only for that.

Sometimes it surprised me, others it made me nod, in agreement with the characters, but not enough to convince me to give it 4 sunflowers..

Golden boy Ezra Faulkner believes everyone has a tragedy waiting for them—a single encounter after which everything that really matters will happen. His particular tragedy waited until he was primed to lose it all: in one spectacular night, a reckless driver shatters Ezra’s knee, his athletic career, and his social life.

No longer a front-runner for Homecoming King, Ezra finds himself at the table of misfits, where he encounters new girl Cassidy Thorpe. Cassidy is unlike anyone Ezra’s ever met, achingly effortless, fiercely intelligent, and determined to bring Ezra along on her endless adventures.

But as Ezra dives into his new studies, new friendships, and new love, he learns that some people, like books, are easy to misread. And now he must consider: if one’s singular tragedy has already hit and everything after it has mattered quite a bit, what happens when more misfortune strikes?

Robyn Schneider’s The Beginning of Everything is a lyrical, witty, and heart-wrenching novel about how difficult it is to play the part that people expect, and how new beginnings can stem from abrupt and tragic endings.

Extraordinary Means is also in my bookshelf, in my infinite TBR pile📚.. Hope I will like it😋

So 🌻🌻🌻 out of 5 sunflowers!

The other two books are the ones I’ve talked about In the Fantasy Kingdoms that is to say: Princess of The Eternal Ices and Princess of the Corals, both by Tea Stilton, both available only in italian.

4 and a half 🌻 out of 5 for each one. They’re so sweet and lovely !!

Here you are the plot of the first one (itwouldbeaspoilerifi’dalsoposttheotherone)

There was a time when there was the Great Kingdom, an immense territory on the borders of the Kingdom of Fantasy . An evil wizard ruled over the whole kingdom , until a brave knight defeated him. Then he banished all magic from the kingdom and divided into five realms entrusting them to his daughters : the ” Princess of the Kingdom of Fantasy .” But now someone tries to reunite the Five Realms , someone who wants to win the heart of Nives , the princess of the Kingdom of the Eternal Ices .

Then I’ve read The Rest of us Just Lives Here by Patrick Ness, in this splendid edition:

Sincerely, I thought it would have been better than it actually was.

I found Michael a little annoying sometimes, although he is very loyal to his sisters and his best friend, he’s been such a bastard with some of the other characters because he was just out of himself for the jealousy.

The plot seemed more interesting before I picked it up, the world it’s set too, the concept too, just.. I don’t know, something very important is missing in this book and this missing piece could have make this book great.

And I shipped Michael with Jared..

What if you aren’t the Chosen One?

The one who’s supposed to fight the zombies, or the soul-eating ghosts, or whatever the heck this new thing is, with the blue lights and the death?

What if you’re like Mikey? Who just wants to graduate and go to prom and maybe finally work up the courage to ask Henna out before someone goes and blows up the high school. Again.

Because sometimes there are problems bigger than this week’s end of the world, and sometimes you just have to find the extraordinary in your ordinary life.

Even if your best friend is worshipped by mountain lions.

Award-winning writer Patrick Ness’s bold and irreverent novel powerfully reminds us that there are many different types of remarkable.

Who doesn’t like this cover? I mean, it’s freaking awesome!

Despite the fantastic cover and the most marvelous film ever, this book wasn’t as good as I thought it would have been.. I know I have too high standards.. But still.

This are some the best movie scenes(evenifallthemovieiscompletelyawesome):

Howl’s sexiness isn’t normal..😍

In the movie, he is so cute and benevolent, while in the book he is vain and almost a villain.. But I do recognize the splendid fantasy that’s used to build this book up so.. 🌻🌻🌻 sunflowers ot of five.. BecauseHooowllll

Here you are the plot, the Amazon link and the original book cover.

Sophie has the great misfortune of being the eldest of three daughters, destined to fail miserably should she ever leave home to seek her fate. But when she unwittingly attracts the ire of the Witch of the Waste, Sophie finds herself under a horrid spell that transforms her into an old lady. Her only chance at breaking it lies in the ever-moving castle in the hills: the Wizard Howl’s castle. To untangle the enchantment, Sophie must handle the heartless Howl, strike a bargain with a fire demon, and meet the Witch of the Waste head-on. Along the way, she discovers that there’s far more to Howl—and herself—than first meets the eye.
